Georgia State record: 6-6, 5-3 Sun Belt. The Panthers ended the regular season with a four-game winning streak with its win over Georgia Southern, 34-7, onˆDecember 5.
Series history: This is the first meeting on the football field between these teams. San Jose State and Georgia State were seen in Eugene, Ore., September 19, for the Spartans' game at Oregon State and Panthers' contest at #12-Oregon.
San Jose State christens another bowl game: San Jose State's participation in the 2015 AutoNation Cure Bowl is the third bowl in which the Spartans became one of the first two teams to play in a bowl's inaugural game.

KSJS (90.5 FM, San Jose) also will carry the AutoNation Cure Bowl. Chad Oklin-Jolin leads the broadcast team. The KSJS FM coverage begins at 3:45 p.m. (PT).
Television: The CBS Sports Network will televise the AutoNation Cure Bowl featuring San José State and Georgia State. Carter Blackburn calls the play-by-play. Aaron Taylor serves as the game analyst. Jenny Dell is the sideline reporter. The CBS Sports Network telecast begins at 4:00 p.m. (PT).

A return to Florida: The AutoNation Cure Bowl will be the fourth time San Jose State is playing a football game in Florida. Previously, the Spartans faced #2-Miami in the Orange Bowl in 1989, #6-Florida to start the 1991 season, and unranked Florida in 2003.
Wins in the Eastern Time Zone: The AutoNation Cure Bowl will be San Jose State's tenth football game in the Eastern Time Zone. The Spartans have wins in the Eastern Time Zone against Navy in Annapolis, Md., in 2012 and the 2012 Military Bowl in Washington, D.C.
Teammates now on opposite sides of the ball: San Jose State linebacker Christian Tago and Georgia State left guard Taylor Evans were teammates on the Palmdale (Calif.) Falcons pee wee football team. Spartans' quarterback Kenny Potter and Georgia State running back Taz Bateman were teammates at Long Beach City College in 2014.
