RAMOS' CLUTCH THREE WINS GAME AT WYOMING

Dezz Ramos (Jr., PG, West Valley, Utah) sank a three-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining in the game and the Spartans trailing Wyoming 66-64. The win is the first for San José State in Laramie where the Cowgirls had beaten SJSU by an average of 30.1 ppg in the last three meetings in the Arena Auditorium.

BYRD HAS 1,000-CAREER POINTS IN HER SIGHTS

Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) has scored 956 career-points entering the Spartans game against Fresno State. At her career average of 9.0 point per game she should crack the 1,000-point plateau in the game at Air Force (1/30). When she scores her 1,000th point she will be the 14th player in Spartans history to reach the milestone.

BYRD 25 BOARDS FROM 2ND ON SPARTANS CAREER LIST

Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) has grabbed 921 rebounds in her San José State career. Entering the team's game against Fresno State sits 26 boards from passing Rhoda Chew (946 from 1982-85) for second place on the program's career list. Byrd is the third player in program history to pass the 900 career-rebound plateau. The other two players to reach at least 900 rebounds, Chew and Elinor Banks (1,062 rebounds - 1978-81), both surpassed the 1,000-career points list.

SPARTANS OPEN CONFERENCE ACTION 4-1...BEST START IN A LONG TIME

With wins at Utah State (86-74 on12/30) and Wyoming (67-66 on 1/13) and over Air Force (81-60 on 1/2) and San Diego State (78-73 on 1/6) to open conference play, the Spartans are 4-1 in league action heading into their game against Fresno State. It's the best start to a conference slate for the San José State since the 2005-06 season. That year the team opened Western Athletic Conference play 4-0.

The best start for SJSU in a conference season came in both the 1977-78 and 1978-79 when the team went an undefeated 12-0 in the NorCal.

EVENT CENTER UNKIND TO BULLDOGS

After years of making itself at home on the Spartans court, the Event Center hasn't been as accommodating to Fresno State in recent trips. After winning eight straight in San Jose from 2003-04 to 2010-11, the Spartans have handed the Bulldogs three-straight losses.
