Record-setting running back Tyler Ervin and two-time Mountain West honorable mention cornerback Jimmy Pruitt will be the two San Jose State University football representatives in upcoming college all-star games.
Ervin, who finished second nationally in all-purpose running with a 202.8 per game average and was 11th in rushing with 1,601 yards, is one of four Mountain West players playing in the 67th Reese Senior Bowl, Saturday, January 30. The 5-foot-10, 177-pound honorable mention All-America from Colton, Calif., is just the second San Jose State running back to play in a Senior Bowl. Ervin will wear #7 and play for the North squad coached by Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.
The 2016 Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., kicks off at 11:30 a.m. (PT). The NFL Network is televising the game live. ESPNU will televise team practices on January 27 & 28.
Pruitt, who shared the team lead with three interceptions, is playing in the NFL Collegiate Bowl, Saturday, January 23 in Carson, Calif. ESPN2 is televising the game starting at 3:00 p.m. (PT).
The Spartan cornerback will be wearing #29 for the North team coached by former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Holmgren. Coaching the South team is one San Jose State graduate assistant Mike Martz. Pruitt is the first San Jose State player to suit up for the five-year old all-star football game.
Following the two weekends of all-star games, players will turn their sights to the NFL Combine, February 23 through 29, in Indianapolis. The 2016 Draft is April 28-30.
