Flagstaff, Ariz. --- Jade Childs racked up a season-best 3,491 points and is the Mountain T's Invitational women's pentathlon champion. Teammate Kolbi Sims finished close behind in third place among the field of 10 on Friday in Flagstaff, Ariz.Childs took first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.67 meters, and was the runner up in the high jump and shot put events. She clocked an 8.81 in the 60-meter hurdles.Sims' day was highlighted by a victory in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:34.38."I wanted to get these two back out in one more pentathlon before the conference championship," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "I think they are both in a good place right now, and we have time to get back to practice and get even better."The San José State women's track and field team will compete as a full squad at the Don Kirby Invitational coming up on February 12-13.Women's Pentathlon Results
