San Jose, Calif. â€" When the San José State women's basketball team takes the court in the Lawlor Event Center to face the Nevada Wolf Pack, the Spartans will be looking for their fifth win in a row and their fifth conference road win of the year.

BYRD REACHES 1,000 BOARDS JOINS 1,000/1,000 CLUB
Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) grabbed nine rebounds in San José State's 59-58 win over New Mexico (2/13) and in doing so the passed the 1,000-career rebound plateau. She is the second player in SJSU history to reach quadruple digit rebounds and combined with her 1,000-career points is in equally rarefied air for a Spartan basketball player. Byrd joins San José State Hall of Famer Elinor Banks as the only two members of the 1,000/1,000 club.
FOUR IN A ROW
With its 59-58 win over New Mexico on Saturday afternoon, San José State is riding a four-game winning streak. It's the longest winning streak of the year for the Spartans. A win at Nevada would extend the streak to five games something SJSU has not accomplished since it strung together six straight in the 2004-05 season.
ROAD WARRIORS
With San Jose State's 66-64 victory at Fresno State (2/3), the team has four conference road wins in a season for the first time since 2004-05. With road contests at Nevada, San Diego State and Boise State still on the docket, SJSU has a chance to equal or surpass the 2001-02 team which won five conference road games and the 1977-78 & 1978-79 teams which each won six conference road game, the single-season program record.
BYRD BECOMES THE 14TH PLAYER TO REACH 1,000-CAREER POINTS FOR SJSU
With a game-high 17 points at Fresno State (2/3),Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) has scored 1,004 career-points in a Spartans uniform. Averaging 9.0 points per game for her career, she reached the milestone in 112 games and is the 14th player in program history to achieve quadruple-digit scoring.
LADD TRENDING UP...AS A STARTER
Myzhanique Ladd (So., G, Seattle, Wash.) continues to show the skills which got her named Ms. Basketball in the state of Washington in 2014. At Air Force (1/30) she recorded her first career double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. A career 5.0 ppg scorer, in the last 17 games Ladd has reached double figures in the scoring column eight times and has averaged 10.0 ppg while grabbing 5.1 rebounds and against New Mexico (2/13) pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds. Since being inserted in the starting lineup 15 games ago, she has shot 57% from the floor, 50% from three-point range and 70% from the line.
ITS ALL ABOUT BYRD
In the game against New Mexico (2/13), Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) competed in her 114th game as a Spartan, which tied her with Tatiana Taylor (2001-04) and Sayja Sumler (2008-11) for fifth place on the program career-list for games played. Natalie White (2006-09) ranks fourth with 118. With a minimum of six games left on San José State's schedule, Byrd could reach 120 games played which would equal Lamisha Augustine (2002-06) for second place. The career record holder is Ta'Rea Cunnigan who played in 122 games for the Spartans.
SPARTANS BREAKTHROUGH AGAINST NEW MEXICO
It's a series with a short history, just seven games. But in its previous six incarnations, New Mexico had defeated the Spartans six times by an average of 10.0 points per game. San José State finally broke the mystery of the Lobos on lucky number seven. SJSU defeated UNM 59-58 on February 13. With the win, the Spartans have now defeated every team in the league at least once since joining the Mountain West.
