MAKE IT FIVE IN A ROW
With its 76-63 win at Nevada on Wednesday night, San José State is riding a five-game winning streak, the longest streak of the year for the Spartans. A win at San Diego State on Saturday would extend the streak to six games something SJSU has not accomplished since it strung that many together in the 2004-05 season.
BYRD FLYING UP CAREER GAMES LIST
In the game at Nevada (2/17), Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) competed in her 115th game as a Spartan, which moved her past Tatiana Taylor (2001-04) and Sayja Sumler (2008-11) into fifth place by herself on the program career-list for games played. Natalie White (2006-09) ranks fourth with 118. With a minimum of five games left on San José State's schedule, Byrd could reach 120 games played which would equal Lamisha Augustine (2002-06) for second place. The career record holder is Ta'Rea Cunnigan who played in 122 games for the Spartans.
ROAD WARRIORS COME OUT AN PLAY
With San Jose State's 76-63 victory at Nevada (2/17), the team has five conference road wins in a season for the first time since 2001-02. With road contests at San Diego State and Boise State still on the docket, SJSU has a chance to equal or surpass the 1977-78 & 1978-79 teams which each won six conference road game, the single-season program record.

Myzhanique Ladd (So., G, Seattle, Wash.) continues to show the skills which got her named Ms. Basketball in the state of Washington in 2014. At Air Force (1/30) she recorded her first career double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. A career 5.0 ppg scorer, in the last 18 games Ladd has reached double figures in the scoring column nine times and has averaged 10.0 ppg while grabbing 5.1 rebounds and against New Mexico (2/13) pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds. Since being inserted in the starting lineup 16 games ago, she has shot 57% from the floor, 50% from three-point range and 70% from the line.
BYRD MAKES 1,000/1,000 CLUB A TWOSOME
Riana Byrd (Sr., C, Richmond, Calif.) grabbed nine rebounds in San José State's 59-58 win over New Mexico (2/13) and in doing so the passed the 1,000-career rebound plateau. She is the second player in SJSU history to reach quadruple digit rebounds and combined with her 1,000-career points is in equally rarefied air for a Spartan basketball player. Byrd joins San José State Hall of Famer Elinor Banks (1978-81) as the only two members of the school's 1,000/1,000 club.
SPARTANS RAMP UP DEFENSE IN WIN AT NEVADA
In its 76-63 win at Nevada (2/17) San José State held the Wolf Pack to a .272 shooting percentage, the second worst shooting performance by a Spartans' opponent this season. In the second half, SJSU held Nevada to just .143 (6-for-42) including 0-for-12 from three-point distance. The only place UNR had any success in the last 20 minutes was from the charity stripe where they were 9-for-10.
On an individual basis, Nevada's leading scorer (12.9 ppg) and leading rebounder (6.1 rpg), Nyasha Lesure was completely held in check. Lesure made just two shots from the floor and a pair of free throws and grabbed just four boards.
