The San José State women's golf team competes this Friday and Saturday at the MountainView Collegiate Invitational at the MountainView Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
The Spartans are one of 15 teams participating in the tournament â€" Colorado State, Georgia, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico State, Purdue, Ohio State, Texas State, UTSA, Wyoming and San José State.

The teams will play 36 holes on Friday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The final round on Saturday is 18 holes with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

This year marks the eighth appearance for San José State in the tournament. The Spartans won the 2009 title and finished second in 2013. Former Sparta Erica Moston won the 2009 title, while Jennifer Brumbaugh won the individual title in 2012. Both players won their title by shooting a 209 over the three rounds.
