Santa Cruz, Calif. - For the second consecutive day, Scott Munger had the low round for the San José State men's golf team with a three-over 73, this time sharing it with Kevin Velo. Collectively, the Spartans dropped one spot in the team standings and finds itself in 12th place after two rounds of the Transamerica-WFG Western Intercollegiate.

"It's my favorite tournament of the year and it's been fun this week. I've been working on the mental side of my game," said Munger, playing in his second Western Intercollegiate.

Munger sits tied for 24th overall at two-over 142 (69-73) as he has made 25 pars in the first two rounds, tied for fourth most in the tournament.

Playing in his first ever "The Western" at the par-70, 6,615 yard Pasatiempo Golf Club, Velo moved up three spots in the leaderboard to a 47th place tie with his second consecutive round of 73. The Danville, Calif., native is six-over 146 for the tournament.

Matthew Murray finished his second round by making seven consecutive pars to finish at six-over 76. Murray is tied for 60th at eight-over 148 (72-76).

Taylor Bromley is tied for 72nd at 13-over 153 (75-78).

Bradley Keyer and Henrik Sohlberg are 81st and tied for 82nd, respectively at 16-over 156 and 17-over 157.

Aaron Wise of Oregon maintained his first round lead with a four-under 66 on Tuesday, off the heels of his Western Intercollegiate tournament record seven-under 63 on Monday. Wise is one-shot ahead of Stanford's Maverick McNealy, the number three ranked player according to GolfStat.

Stanford overtook Oregon in the team standings at eight-under 692, three shots clear of the Ducks.

The final round of the Western Intercollegiate will continue on Wednesday with 18 holes. The teams will tee it off at 8:45 a.m. PST with a shotgun start. Fans can follow all of the round two action with live scoring updates provided by Golfstat (Team Leaderboard, Player Leaderboard).
