April 14, 2016 Azusa, Calif. --- Kolbi Sims completed her first heptathlon in a Spartan uniform Thursday, finishing with 4,491 points for a 37th place result at the California Invitational Combined meet.Sims leaped 5.22 meters in the long jump to begin the day. She threw the javelin 24.10 meters and clocked a 2:33.96 in the 800 to conclude the two-day heptathlon.The freshman from Eagle, Idaho finished in 37th place.The week is nowhere near done for Sims and the Spartans. The rest of the team with be competing in a full slate of events the next two days at the Mt. SAC Relays, Bryan Clay Invitational and Long Beach State Invitational.Event ResultsLong Jump
