SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. â€" San José State's women's tennis team cruised past Cal Poly in its final regular season contest on Saturday, netting a 6-1 win at Mustang Tennis Complex.
The Spartans finish the regular season slate with an 11-9 overall record and 2-2 mark in the Mountain West. Cal Poly fell to 3-15 on the campaign.
Miyo Kobayashi and Marine Dans got the day started with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. After a Cal Poly win at No. 3, 52nd-ranked Sybille Gauvain and Marie Klocker remained undefeated with a 7-6 victory at the top spot, clinching the doubles point for San José State.
On the singles side, all six matches were decided in straight sets. Cal Poly scored its lone point of the afternoon at the No. 6 spot, but the Spartans cruised to victory at the other five positions to grab their 11th win of the season.
With their wins on Saturday, Kobayashi and Klocker finished the regular season with singles records of 14-4 and 13-3, respectively.
The Spartans head to the Mountain West Championships in Ft. Collins, Colo., next week.
