Final Stats - Sacramento State
Folsom, Calif.--The San José State beach volleyball team split a pair of duals on Saturday, falling to New Mexico, 4-1, before rebounding to defeat Sacramento State, 3-2, at the Livermore Community Park in Folsom, Calif.
Hana Tresnáková and Julia Menhart ran their winning streak to six matches against New Mexico with a 21-16, 21-14 win over the Lobos. They were the only pair to score a point against New Mexico.
Allison Meehan and Jamie Hirai stretched their match against the Lobo pair to three sets before falling, 17-21, 21-16, 15-6. The three other Spartan pairs fell in straight sets.
Against Sacramento State, three Spartans pairs won their matches for the 3-2 win and the fourth win over the Hornets this season. Meehan and Hirai won their match - 21-19, 21-5. Nandyala Gama and Julie Sam needed three sets for their win - 21-17, 21-23, 15-4; as well as Summer Avery and Luiza Andrade - 21-18, 15-21, 15-9. Tresnáková and Menhart had their winning streak stopped at six matches with a 21-18, 21-15 loss.
The Spartans are now 7-10 on the season and travel to Stanford this Thursday, April 14, for a 4 p.m. dual.
