Honolulu, Hawai'i --- Caitlin Wilson won two short sprints, Jeanette Zambrano was impressive in the 3,000 steeplechase, and the Spartan women's track and field team took first place in two of the jumps Saturday in a dual meet against Hawaii at the Rainbow Relays."We had a number of quality performances today," said San José State head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "I really liked what I saw in the steeplechase and we were solid in the long jump. I thought Caitlin Wilson ran a really good 100-meter race."Wilson won the 100-dash with a time of 11.97. She finished ahead of teammate Makayla Webb, who finished in 12.27. Wilson and Webb finished in the same order in the 200-dash. Wilson won that race with a time of 24.70.Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw was victorious in the long jump with a distance of 5.79 meters. Cambree Harbaugh finished just behind at 5.72 meters.Jeanette Zambrano turned in a solid performance in the 3,000 steeple chase for the second time in as many weeks. Zambrano clocked an 11.16.92 to lead all Spartans and finish second overall.Natalia Gutierrez was victorious as well for the Spartans in the high jump. She scored five points for SJSU with a 1.65 meter height.At the end of the day when they added the team scores up, Hawai'i came away with the 97-64 victory."Our marks were solid throughout many events today and we'll be getting right back to work in preparation for the Mount SAC Relays," Petersmeyer said.San José State will split up next weekend to compete across the Mount SAC Relays, the California Invitational, Long Beach Invitational and Bryan Clay Invitational.
