She was sixth out of 17 entries in the long jump with distance of 5.52 meters. Lambert, competing in her first-ever hep, was 12th in both the javelin throw and the 800-meter run. She finished with 4,433 points which was good for 13th place.Sims, began the day in eighth place, but fell to 11th throughout the final three events. She was 14th in the 800 meters and 15th in both the javelin and long jump."It was impressive for Leah to score 4,443 points in her first heptathlon," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "She had only practiced for about a week and a half. Unfortunately for Kolbi the long jump took her out of scoring position, but she is a first-year. She will be back with another year of experience at the next championship."Preliminaries for both track and field events at the MW Championship begin tomorrow.
