Women's Golf Moves Up At Stanford Intercollegiate

Stanford, Calif.- After two rounds at the Stanford Intercollegiate, the San José State women's golf team is in 15th place at 607 after shooting a 302 in the second round Saturday at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.

My Leander shot the low round for the Spartans with a two-over 73. She ends the day tied for 27th at 148. Leander made two birdies and 12 pars during her round.

Franziska Friedrich shot a 76 and is tied for 45th at 152, while Abegail Arevalo is tied for 53rds at 153 after recording a 79. Elizabeth Schultz shot a three-over 74 and is tied for 66th at 155, while Alexandra Cooper is tied for 81st at 159 after shooting a 79 on Saturday.

UCLA takes over the lead at 572 after shooting the low round of the day of 285. The Bruins have an 11-shot lead over host Stanford. Individually, Bronte Law of UCLA shot a six-under 65 in the second round and is seven under for the tournament.

Final round action begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m., while the Spartans get underway at 8:15 a.m. on #10. The team plays with San Diego State and Colorado.
