San Jose State women's tennis duo Marie Klocker and Sybille Gauvain were defeated 8-6 by Duke's Ellyse Hamlin and Meible Chi in a doubles consolation bracket match.
#47-ranked Klocker and Gauvain came on strong against the #36-ranked doubles team in the country but couldn't take control in the end.
The Spartans travel to Moraga, Calif., this weekend, October 7-9, to compete in the Saint Mary's College Invitational.
