2016 NSCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-West Region Team
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Jonathan Colunga, a senior midfielder on the San José State men's soccer team, was named to the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America's All-West Region team, the NSCAA announced on Tuesday, December 6.
Colunga earned third-team honors and it marked the first time he has been honored to the all-region team. He tied for second on the team with seven points in 18 matches this season.
Last month, Colunga was honored by the Western Athletic Conference to their all-conference team, marking the third time he was named to the All-WAC team.
The Lindsay, Calif., native is the 16th Spartan to be named to the NSCAA All-West Region team since 1993. Fellow senior Rory Knibbs was the last Spartan to be named, earning second-team distinction, last season.
