Childs & Sims Head To UW Invitational

Jan. 25, 2017

Multis athletes Jade Childs and Kolbi Sims will represent the San José State women's track and field team this Friday and Saturday, January 27-28, in the pentathlon at the University of Washington Invitational.

"This is a good meet to get in before the conference championship," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "It's a great opener for Kolbi and Jade, and I think we have a chance to see some good marks."

Childs is San José State's school-record holder in the program's short history competing in the pentathlon. She recorded 3,712 points at last year's Mountain West Championships, which was good for third place. The UW Invitational will be Child's first pentathlon of her senior year.

Sims, a sophomore from Eagle, Idaho, was SJSU's most active multis athlete during last indoor season. She enters her second season with a personal-best 3,307 points which came at last year's Mountain T's Invitational.
