Men's Golf Travels Up the Road To Compete at The Goodwin

San Jose, Calif. --- The San José State University men's golf team will be traveling up the road to Stanford Golf Course to play at The Goodwin on March 30-April 1. The par-70 6,727-yard course will be played over the span of three days and features 54-holes of stroke play.

The Field includes 24 teams that is comprised of, #1 USC, #10 Oregon, #12 Stanford, #17 UNLV, #18 Colorado, BYU, Cal Poly, Chico State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Marquette, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Pacific, Pepperdine, San José State, Southern Methodist, St. Mary's, UC Davis, UCLA, USF, Washington, and Wyoming.

The Starting lineup at The Goodwin for the Spartans will be Kevin Velo, Scott Munger, William Barnett, Sean Talmadge, and Charles Thompson.

Last Time Out: The Spartans last competed at the Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene, Oregon where they battled wet conditions. Scott Munger and Kevin Velo both tied for 37nd in the tournament. Scott Munger had the best score for the Spartans shooting 71 even par in the final round. They both finished the tournament with a three-round score of nine-over par 222.

Charles Thompson tied at 64th with a 15-over par 228. William Barnett shot 230 and tied for 73rd. Matthew Murray shot 237 and tied for 83rd.

Previously at the Goodwin: Last time at The Goodwin, Scott Munger was the top Spartan finisher for the first time in his career. He tied for 41st and shot six over par 216. Kevin Velo shot nine-over par 219 and tied for 63rd. Tied at 94th was Matthew Murray at 13-over par 223.
