Woodland, Calif.-The San José State women's gymnastics is one of the team leaders in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with eight gymnasts being honored as MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athletes.
The eight gymnasts honored are the most ever for the Spartans in one year. Alisa Bogdan, Rachel Heinl, Erica Matos and Kaitlin Won received honors for the second time in their Spartan career. Josalyn Ray, Stephanie Relova, Michelle Shalit and Kendal Watts received the honor for the first time in their careers.
To receive the distinction, gymnasts must have a 3.00 or better grade point average, be a sophomore academically, complete at least one full academic year at the institution prior to this season and compete in 50 percent or more of the institution's competitions.
