SAN JOSE, Calif. â€" The San José State University baseball team plays Fresno State in a Mountain West conference battle this weekend in Fresno, Calif.
The Spartans (7-12-1 MW) currently sit in sixth place in the conference standings, two wins off the win column behind fourth place Nevada (9-12 MW). The top four teams make it to the conference tournament. Fresno State is in third place with a 9-9 MW record. The Spartans look to carry the momentum from a 6-5 non-conference win against Saint Mary's on Tuesday coming back from a four-run deficit.
San José State trails the all-time series 164-80. The teams played in two series last season with Fresno State taking both series 2-1. Both of the Spartan wins came in extra innings on the third game of the series.
