Fresno, Calif.----- The San Jose State University women's tennis team had wins in singles by #82-ranked Sybille Gauvain, Miyo Kobayashi and Gaelle Rey, but was edged by Fresno State, 4-3, in a Mountain West dual match.

The winner came down to the final singles match of the day. Galina Bykova of Fresno State outlasted Marine Dans, 5-7, 6-0, 7-6 with a 10-8 tiebreaker, at #3-singles to end the Spartans' five-match winning streak. It was the only three-set singles match of the contest.

Gauvain's win at #1-singles over Katerina Stioukalova, 6-4, 6-3, evened the score at 3-3.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into the six singles matches winning at #2 & #3 doubles, before

Rey tied the score at 1-1 with her singles win at #6 and Kobayashi made it 2-2 with her victory, her sixth in a row and fourth since moving up to the #5-singles position. Her 11-3 singles record in dual matches is tops on the team.

San Jose State's next match is Friday, April 14, at UC Davis in a 2:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
