All-MPSF Women's Water Polo Honors

Woodland, Calif.----- Klaudia Paradi of San Jose State University was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) women's water polo all-conference team as an honorable mention selection in a vote by the conference's seven coaches.

A junior from Eger, Hungary, Paradi was the Spartans primary 2-meter defender in 2017 often tasked with guarding the opponent's best player. When San Jose State was on offense, she finished the season as the team's third leading scorer with 23 goals.

"I'm very happy for her. It's a great accomplishment and shows the kind of season she had for us. Getting an award in the toughest women's water polo conference in the nation shows she is the same caliber of player as players from the other MPSF schools," says San Jose State head coach Gabor Sarusi about the conference that annually features the top five teams in the country and this year had five players that played in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

"Her role is not defined by statistics alone. She's our 2-meter defender always going against the other team's best player. On top of her defensive duties, she also contributed a lot on offense for us."

Eight players each were named to the All-MPSF first and second teams. Seven were named honorable mention honorees. The MPSF All-Newcomer Team consisted of seven freshmen.

San Jose State concluded its women's water polo season with a 10-19 win-loss record.
