Coral Springs, Fla.--San José State University women's golfer Franziska Friedrich has been named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar for the 2016-17 season.
Friedrich is one of 952 women's collegiate golfers to receive this honor. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and play in at least 12 rounds during the season. Friedrich has a 3.86 overall grade point average with a major in international business.
This past season, Friedrich played in all 30 round for the Spartans with a 75.47 stroke average. Her best finish was sixth at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic where she shot a three-under 69 in the second round. Friedrich shot four rounds under par and two round of par during year.
A native of Heideck, Germany, Friedrich recently finished second at the German International Amateur where she shot a three-under 285.
