Robinson, Gama Check-In From Budapest As Part of MW All-Star Team

July 7, 2017

After spending time in Brazil with the their teammates to end June and begin July, San José State volleyball players Nandyala Gama and Breann Robinson hopped another flight to Europe to join the Mountain West All-Star team that will compete at the 2017 European Global Challenge, July 11-15, in Pula, Croatia.

First, the team is training in Budapest. Breann checks in with Spartan Nation to tell us about the first day.

Day 1 - Breann Robinson

We woke up later than planned. When we headed out to explore and get some food, we ran into some sleeping teammates in the lobby. They were the first group to arrive so they were waiting to check into the hotel. We headed out, explored the city a little, found a mall and did some shopping.

We learned that Budapest used to be two cities Buda and Pest, and the seven bridges over the Danube River are what connect them. Now, the city is known as one: Budapest.

We are staying on the Buda side, which is more nature, and where people usually like to live. The Pest side is more for business - there is a university on that side and a more active nightlife.

After exploring the city and doing our shopping, we headed back to the hotel, took a nap, and then headed to our first practice. It was so fun to meet the girls from the different schools and play with them. After practice we headed back for dinner at the hotel, trying some Hungarian food and they even had Nanj's favorite, deviled eggs! After dinner the team went out into the town and explored around until we finally admitted to ourselves that we were too tired and should get some rest.
