Fairfax, Calif--- San José State University's, Kevin Velo, is in second place after two rounds at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational. The Junior is 12-under par, and is one stroke behind California's K.K Limbhasut. Hayden Shieh and PJ Samiere are two strokes behind Kevin, both tied for third. Velo shot 16 birdies in the first two rounds of the tournament. He carded a 65 in both rounds for a total score of 130.
The Spartans are tied for ninth place on the par 71, 6,734-yard Meadow Club golf course. The team is three under par after two rounds with a total score of 565. The squad shot even par 284 in round one, and three-under par 281 in round two.
Sean Yu is tied for 22nd shooting three-under par in the two rounds 70-69=139.
Scott Munger is tied for 57th shooting four over par in the tournament. He has a total score of 74-72=146. Sean Talmadge is tied at 76th at eight-over par with a total score of 75-75=150.
Ben Campbell made his Spartan debut, and is in 88th at 79-79=158.
California is leading the tournament at 29-under par with a seven-stroke lead over second place San Diego State.
