Las Vegas, Nev.---- Jeremy Romero scored in the second half as San Jose State University defeated regular-season champion and #12 Air Force, 1-0, in a Western Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round match.

San Jose State (9-10-1) recorded its seventh shutout win of the season and advances to the finals for the first time since 2013. The Spartans now have wins in seven of their last eight contests.

"It was hard. We played the other day and Air Force was fresh, but the adrenaline kept us going... I thought in the first half we were the better team," said the head coach Simon Tobin about the win. "My guys have really been resilient this year and the second half of the season is really showing it."

San Jose State outshot Air Force (14-2-3), 7-6. Spartans goalkeeper David Heredia was credited with three saves to the four for the Falcons' John Wendt.
