Los Angeles, Calif.----- Cari Reiswig was San Jose State University's top finisher in the platform event on the final day of the three-day UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational.
Reiswig and UNLV's Mykayla Fielding tied for 14th place with a 212.10 score for five dives in the preliminary round. The top-12 finishers in the 49-diver field advanced to the final round. A 214.25 score was good for 12th place.
Reiswig and Fielding each had the third best score among Mountain West divers on the platform. They were among the three conference divers to qualify for finals in two of the three events. Reiswig was ninth on the 1-meter board and 11th in the 3-meter.
Teammates Kylie Fonseca, Eri Tamada and Natasha Sondeno also competed in this event. Fonseca was 27th with a 190.70; Tamada, 29th, with a season-best 188.55; and Sondeno, 31st at 182.70.
Hawai'i's Madison Sthamann won the platform competition with a 627.20 score.
The Spartan divers and swimmers are in action next at UC Davis on Saturday, January 20, in a dual meet at Noon.
