The San José State women's gymnastics team travels up Interstate 80 this Friday to the state capital to compete at Sacramento State with Seattle Pacific. The meet begins at 7 p.m. inside Hornet Gym.
The Spartans are coming off a season-best 194.500 in a tri-meet with Boise State and Iowa State last Friday night at The Event Center. Ellie Pascoe-Long started the meet off on vault with a career-best 9.875, while Taylor Chan ended the meet strongly for the Spartans on floor with a 9.875. Kaitlin Won scored a season-best 39.100 in the all-around.

LAST MEETINGS
San José State and Sacramento State have faced each other three times this year. This is the fourth of five meetings between the two teams this season. The only other meeting will be on March 24 at the MPSF Championships at USAFA.

SPARTAN HEAD COACH
Spartan head coach Wayne Wright is in his 17th year at the helm of the program. He has coached all seven San José State regional qualifying teams and taken three individual competitors to the NCAA Championships.
Wright is assisted by associate head coach Shella Martinez who is in her 15th season with the Spartans. She is primarily responsible for the beam team and is the team's recruiting coordinator. Former Spartan Alise Blackwell joined the Spartan coaching staff in 2015 as an assistant coach and is the team's bars coach.
HOME MEETS
The Spartans host two more meets at The Event Center in 2018. UC Davis visits The Event Center on Friday, February 23, at 7 p.m. The final home meet of the season is Sunday, March 4, with Air Force, Central Michigan and Seattle Pacific beginning at 2 p.m. That will also be Senior Day.
Fans can purchase tickets at the door or from the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589). Ticket prices are $8 for adults; youth (12 & under) $5; and youth in club gear $3.
MPSF CHAMPIONSHIPS MARCH 24
San José State will compete at the 2018 MPSF Championships on Saturday, March 24, at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. The meet begins at 6 p.m. MT, and features Air Force, Alaska Anchorage, UC Davis, Sacramento State, Seattle Pacific and the Spartans.

The Spartans return home for the final two meets of the year at The Event Center. San José State hosts UC Davis on Friday, February 23, for a dual meet beginning at 7 p.m. The Spartans host three teams on Sunday, March 4 - Air Force, Central Michigan and Seattle Pacific. The Senior Day meet begins at 2 p.m., and seniors Alisa Bogdan and Kaitlin Won will be honored after the meet.
