Women's Golf Opens Spring Season At Bruin Wave Invitational

The San José State women's golf team begins the spring season this Monday and Tuesday, February 26 and 27, at the Bruin Wave Invitational hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.

The Spartans are one of 16 teams to compete at the tournament - Pepperdine, UCLA, California, Cal Poly, Colorado, CSUN, Fresno State, Hawaii, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Francisco, Stanford, USC, Washington and the Spartans.

The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The final round on Tuesday begins at 7:50 a.m. with tee times off of #1 and #10.

San José State is looking to continue the success from the fall season, finishing second at two tournaments (Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and Colonel Wollenberg's Ptarmigan Ram Classic) and a fifth-place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate.

Arevalo led the team with a 72.42 stroke average, followed by Cooper at 72.56. The team shot 18 rounds under par and three rounds of par.
