Women's Water Polo Finishes Season With 13-3 Loss To Arizona State

Berkeley, Calif.----- Guara Garcia Delgado scored twice and Klaudia Paradi, once, as San Jose State University concluded its 2018 season losing, 13-3, to Arizona State University in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament's fifth-place match.

Both Garcia Delgado goals came in the second half after the Spartans went into halftime trailing, 6-1. Paradi's goal was on a power play and pulled San Jose State to its second and final one-goal deficit of the match, 2-1 early in the second quarter.

Goalkeeper Tayler Peters was in on 10 saves in her final Spartan match. Arizona State goalkeeper Mia Rycraw matched a season with 16 saves including a first-quarter 5-meter penalty shot by Paradi that would have tied the match at 1-1.

Arizona State's Lena Mihailovic led all players in scoring with five goals.

Besides Peters in goal, seniors Vanessa Elgohary, Jennifer Liu, Jordan Milich-Misikini, and Paradi played their final college match. Goalkeeper Katelynn Thompson saw her final action for San Jose State in the opening round contest vs. Stanford on April 27.
