Friedrich Remains In Top-20, Women's Golf 13th at Silverado Showdown

Napa, Calif.-Spartan women's golfer Franziska Friedrich shot a one-over 73 in the second round of the Silverado Showdown and is tied for 20th at three-over 147 after two rounds a the Silverado Resort and Spa. San José State finished the day in 13th place at 602 after shooting a 302 in the second round.

Friedrich played the front nine a one-under par with birdies on two par-five holes - #5 and #9, and a bogey on #4. However, her final nine holes of the round were not so nice to her. She made a double bogey on #10 but rebounded with a birdie on the 11th hole. Friedrich then finished the round with two bogeys, a birdie and four pars.

Abegail Arevalo is tied for 34th at five-over 150, after shooting her second consecutive 75. She made two birdies on #9 and #11 and finished the round by making seven straight pars.

Ysabel Tran is now tied for 60th at 153 after shooting a 79 on Monday. She ended her round by making pars on nine of her final 10 holes of the day.

Alexandra Cooper improved her score by four shots by recording a 75 in the second round and is tied for 66th at 10-over 154. She made 13 pars and a birdie during her round.

Elizabeth Schultz is tied for 79th at 159, shooting an 82 in the second round.

The Spartans play the final round on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The team will start the day on holes 13-16 and will play with Colorado and Wisconsin.
