The Spartans split their final two home matches of the season, defeating Colorado State 1-0 before falling in overtime to Wyoming 3-2.
MEET THE OPPONENT – UTAH STATE
Utah State is looking for its first win since September 23, against Nevada (1-0). The Aggies have been victims of three-straight one-goal losses vs. New Mexico, Colorado College and Air Force since tying San Diego State 2-2 on October 5. Utah State is currently 11th in the Mountain West standings at 1-6-1 in conference play and 2-12-1 overall. The Aggies are led by Heather Cairns, who is in her 16th season at the helm.
SERIES HISTORY – UTAH STATE
Utah State leads the overall series 7-3-2, however it was the Spartans that were victorious in the last installment. Last season saw SJSU win a double overtime thriller in Logan as Jamilecxth Becerra scored in the 105th minute off a corner to give the Spartans a 2-1 victory.
MEET THE OPPONENT – BOISE STATE
Boise State is looking to clinch their first Mountain West regular-season title in school history and sits atop the conference standings with 22 points (7-0-1), four points more than the Spartans, who sit in second place with 18 points. The Broncos will face Fresno State on Friday before hosting SJSU for one of the biggest regular-season matches of the season. Boise State is led by Jim Thomas in his sixth season.

Boise State holds a slim lead in the overall series at 8-7-3. Last season saw the Spartans win 2-1 at home. Jennifer Orozco scored the first goal of her career while Dorthe Hoppius scored her third goal of the season to lead SJSU to their fourth-straight win.

SIMONEAU STANDING OUT
Senior goalkeeper Paige Simoneau has been rock-steady for the Spartans, conceding just 11 goals while tallying 40 saves and pitching seven shutouts. The Corona, Calif. product has posted a 7-6-1 record while leading the Spartans to five shutouts in conference play. Simoneau's seventh-shutout on the year gave her 17 for her career, the most in program history. Simoneau picked up MWC Defensive Player of the Week honors following her shutout against Kansas State on September 2.
