Arevalo Tied For 13th, Spartans Tied For 10th After Two Rounds At Stanford

Stanford, Calif.—Spartan women's golfer Abegail Arevalo shot an even-par 71 for the second consecutive round and is tied for 13th heading into Sunday's final round at the Stanford Intercollegiate. San José State shot a 296 in the second round and is tied for 10th with San Diego State at 585.
 
Arevalo was three-over after her first nine holes of the day (#10-18). She made two birdies and four pars over those holes, but two double bogeys and a bogey contributed to her score. Arevalo rebounded over her final nine holes with three birdies and six pars.
 
Franziska Friedrich shot a two-over 73 and is tied for 35th at four-over 146. After starting her round with back-to-back bogeys, she made eight consecutive pars. Friedrich then made two birdies, two bogeys and four pars to end her round.
 
Natasha Andrea Oon is tied for 40th at five-over 147. She shot a 76 on Saturday with 14 pars made but no birdies. Alexandra Cooper is tied for 60th at 150 and shot a 76 in the second round. She made one birdie and 11 pars during the round. Antonia Malate shot an 82 and is tied for 85th at 162.
 
The Spartans are tied for 10th with San Diego State, and are just two shots behind Oregon and seven shots behind UCLA.
 
Final round action begins Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Spartans begin on hole 10, 11 and 12, with San Diego State and Iowa State.
