Stanford, Calif.—The San José State women's golf team finished the fall season by shooting a 296 in the final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Sunday and placed 11th with a three-round total of 881.
Abegail Arevalo was the team's top finisher as she tied for 20th place at two-over 215. She shot a two-over 73 in the final round and started the day strong with three birdies over her first six holes. However, Arevalo played the next 12 holes at five-over par to end the day.
Natasha Andrea Oon finished the tournament tied for 42nd at 8-over par 221. She shot a 74 in the final round and shot one-under par over her final seven holes, three birdies, two bogeys and two pars (holes 4-10).
Alexandra Cooper shot the Spartans low round of the day with a one-over par 72, and ended the tournament by herself in 46th place at 9-over par 222. Cooper made two birdies and 13 pars during her round.
Franziska Friedrich tied for 63rd at 13-over par 226, and shot an 80 in the final round with a birdie and 11 pars. Antonia Malate was 87th at 239 and had her best round on Sunday with a six-over 77 and two birdies made.
The Spartans finished the fall season with three top-10 finishes and two individual titles. San José State's next competition is February 18 and 19 at the Rebel Beach Tournament in Las Vegas.
