SAN JOSE, Calif. – Junior Ashtin Chastain is one of just five returners for SJSU men's basketball in 2018-19 and brings invaluable experience with him into the season. The 6-foot-11 center made 16 starts last season with 27 overall appearances while averaging 4.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
Chastain's best game came on December 29, at Bowling Green where recorded his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. He also had a big performance against Wyoming on January 27, scoring a career-best 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
With a pleathera of talented, but young players on this season's roster, having a seasoned veteran like Chastain to help guide them along will be huge for the Spartans in 2018-19.
