Spartans Stopped By #1-ranked USC, 16-5

Los Angeles, Calif.----- San Jose State University completed its weekend in Southern California losing 16-5 to #1-ranked University of Southern California.

Ashley Castle scored twice to lead the Spartans' attack. Giacomo Lovatelli,Niels Hofmeijer, and Marc Weber also scored for #16-San Jose State (4-7). Hofmeijer, Lovatelli and one of Castle's scores came on power play opportunities.

Yahav Fire made seven saves in the first three quarters of action. T.J. Palmer finished up in the fourth quarter and stopped three shots.

Having played the #1-ranked Trojans, #2-ranked UCLA to an 11-8 loss, and #5-ranked UC Santa Barbara in one weekend after taking on #3-Stanford and #4-California on the road in the last three weeks, San Jose State will continue its schedule against top-10 ranked teams next weekend, October 12-14, at the MPSF Invite.
