San Jose State University freshmen Yahav Fire and Adam Bado were named to the All-Golden Coast Conference (GCC) men's water polo team in a vote by the conference coaches.
Fire, a freshman goalkeeper from Kfar Hasidim, Israel, was a second-team honoree and was named to the All-Freshman squad. He started 18 games and ranks second in the conference with 172 saves.
Bado, a freshman from Szentes, Csongrad, was an honorable mention All-GCC pick and named to the All-Freshman squad, too. He is third on the Spartans in goal scoring with 22 and leads the team with five assists.
"We are excited to see that two of our very talented freshmen, and members of our relatively young team, Adam and Yahav, were honored by the other coaches in the conference for their excellent play and contribution to our team's success. They both will be important members of our team for some time and be a key part of our success in the future," said by San Jose State men's head water polo coach Bruce Watson.
The Spartans are back in the pool for the Golden Coast Conference Tournament, Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18 at Long Beach State. Their first match is against UC Irvine on November 16 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
