Chan, Andrada Lead Spartans At Tri-Meet Sunday

Boise, Idaho— Taylor Chan led the Spartan on three of the four events on Sunday as the San José State women's gymnastics team scored a 193.050 at a three-team meet in Boise. The Spartans finished second to host Boise State who had a 196.400. Air Force rounded out the team scoring with a 191.875.
 
Chan finished tied for second in the all-around with a career-best 39.175. She had a career-high 9.800 on bars, a 9.825 on beam and a 9.800 on floor to lead the team on those events. Chan rounded out her score with a 9.750 on vault.
 
Chelsey Andrada led the team on vault with a 9.775 and added a 9.750 on beam and a 9.775 on floor.
 
The Spartans started the meet on bars with a season-best 48.700. Chan led the team with a career-high 9.800. Ellie Pascoe-Long followed closely at 9.775, then Stephanie Relova at 9.725, Nikki Duggan at a career-best 9.725, Carli Orcutt with a season-high 9.675, and Madilyn Probst at 8.200.
 
Moving to beam for the second rotation, San José State scored another season best with a 48.800, led by Chan's 9.825.  Pascoe-Long followed closely with a 9.800, then Andrada at 9.750, Relova at 9.725, Josalyn Ray tying her career-high at 9.700 and Jasmine Henley with a season-best 9.475.
 
The Spartans were hampered on floor by a fall and an injury as the team recorded just a 47.250. Chan led the team with a 9.800, followed by Andrada with a 9.775, Henley with a season-best 9.650 and Ray at 9.625. Relova suffered a fall on floor and scored an 8.400, while Pascoe-Long suffered an injury and was unable to finish her routine to get a 6.600.
 
The Spartans finished the meet on vault with a 48.300. Andrada led the team with a 9.775, followed by Chan at 9.750, Ray at 9.700, Orcutt at 9.550, Probst at 9.525 and Trisha Raquel with a 9.500.
 
San José State next competes at Southeast Missouri State this Friday, January 18, at 6:30 p.m. CT/4:30 p.m. PT.
