Davis, Calif. ––––– The San Jose State University women's swimmers and divers went into this meet missing several key athletes.

As Spartan head coach Sage Hopkins said, "With over 25% of our team out of the meet today, we took the opportunity to move some people around a bit to help solidify our lineup for the Mountain West Championship and post season."

The team had individual event wins from Erin Wayman in the 500 freestyle, Jamie Dodd in the 400 IM, and Gabriela Vieira in the 200 backstroke. However, UC Davis came out on top, 164.50 to 104.50, to end San Jose State's four-meet winning streak.

Gabby Heng also had a successful day with second-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Heng also swam the first slot in the winning 200 freestyle relay team with Taylor Lehr, Antoinette Loya and Madelyn Sailors. She posted an additional second-place finish as the anchor of the 200 medley relay team with Lehr, Chloe Limargo and Brenna Bushey.

The divers bounced back with higher scores than at the UCLA Bruin Invitational a week ago. Natasha Sondeno came in third in the one-meter with a 249.83, and second in the three-meter with a 257.18 total. Megan Au posted scores of 234.23 in the 3-meter and 246.60 in the 1-meter, respectively.

The final dual meet of the season will be next week on February 2 at Fresno State. First event is at noon.
