Spartan Seniors Honored Friday Night

San Jose, Calif.—Friday night was Senior Night for the San José State women's gymnastics team as the Spartan seniors performed one last time in The Event Center. The Spartans scored a 193.725 in the meet against California who had a 196.100.
 
Spartan seniors Kaprece Nadonza, Ellie Pascoe-Long, Josalyn Ray, Stephanie Relova and Michelle Shalit saw their career come full circle Friday night. Their first collegiate meet in 2016 was at The Event Center at the NorCal Classic. Friday night, Nadonza, Ray and Relova represented the class on the floor.
 
Ray started the meet with a 9.750 on vault for the Spartans, followed by a 9.650 on beam and a 9.525 on floor. Nadonza scored a 9.725 on bars. Relova had a 9.750 on bars and beam and a 9.675 on floor.


 
Chelsey Andrada and Taylor Chan recorded the team's top scores of the night. Andrada led the team with a 9.850 on beam, while Chan had a team-high 9.850 on floor.
 
The Spartans final regular season meet of the season is next Sunday, March 17, as the team competes at California in a meet with the Golden Bears, Illinois and Sacramento State beginning at 2 p.m.
