Honolulu, Hawaii—The San José State beach team played three matches Saturday at the Queen's Cup in Honolulu. The Spartans fell to Washington, #6 Hawaii and #14 Loyola Marymount, 5-0, in each dual.
Luiza Andrade and Giulia Gávio were the only Spartan pair to take their match to three sets. The pair went three sets against Washington, winning the first set 21-18 before falling 21-18 and 15-13. Against Hawaii, Andrade and Gávio won the first set 22-20 before falling 21-17 and 15-7.
The Spartans are now 11-10 on the season. The team faces Hawaii Sunday at 10 a.m. HT/1 p.m. PT. The third-place match of the Queen's Cup will be at noon HT/3 p.m. PT, with the championship match at 1:30 p.m. HT/4:30 p.m. PT.
