Spartan Women's Swimming & Diving Makes In 13 In A Row

Colorado Springs, Colo.----- Make it 13 in a row for the San Jose State University women's swimming and diving program.

For the 13th consecutive semester, the Spartans were named a Scholar All-America team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

Teams earn the CSCAA Scholar All-America honor with a collective minimum grade-point average of 3.00. San Jose State's team grade-point average for the spring semester was calculated at 3.42 on a 4.00 scale.

"Coach (Sage) Hopkins continues to do a remarkable job – both in and out of the classroom," said Greg Earhart, the CSCAA Executive Director.

"Each morning I wake up and am thankful to have the opportunity to work and help guide such an amazing team of student-athletes. I am humbled to lead such a great group of young people who are so diligently focused in the pool, weight room, and, most importantly, in the classroom," said Hopkins, the Spartans' head coach since the 2006 season.

"Our program has always placed a profound importance on academic and career focus. While our continued academic success is outstanding, it is even more satisfying to see our alumni realizing such profound success in their professional lives."
