This Week: The Spartans have a bye this week and are preparing to travel to SEC country next week to face Arkansas.

Last Week: The Spartans fell to Tulsa Saturday night, 34-16. Quarterback Josh Love threw for 189 yards and one touchdown, while Nick Nash  had 48 rushing yards and found the end zone on a late 20-yard scoring scamper.

Spartan Fact: After two games, quarterback Nick Nash is San José State's leading rusher for the season with 115 yards on 13 carries. Nash scored the Spartans' only second-half touchdown on a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter and finished with 48 yards on eight carries. He also completed 5-of-7 passes for 44 yards.

Women's Soccer (2-1-2)
This Week: The Spartans go on the road for a match at Sacramento State on Thursday before returning to the Spartan Soccer Complex on Sunday for a match against Pac-12 foe Arizona.

Last Week: The Spartans got a Jamilecxth Becerra's goal in the 96th minute for the 1-0 win over  Utah Valley in overtime last Friday evening at the Spartan Soccer Complex. The goal was Becerra's first of the season and the 13th of her Spartan career after pacing the team with five a season ago.

Spartan Fact: In five matches played this season, the Spartans have recorded four shutouts. Last season, the squad posted a school-record 11 shutouts, but just one through the first five matches of non-conference play.

Volleyball (3-3)
This Week: The Spartans return to the Bay Area for three matches as part of the South Bay Battle. The team travels a few miles up the road to play at Santa Clara on Thursday before opening the home portion of the schedule with matches against Northern Colorado on Friday and Marist on Saturday.

Last Week: The team went 2-1 at the ShareSLO Mustang Challenge. The team defeated Wichita State, 3-1, and came from behind against North Texas, 3-2, before falling to Cal Poly, 3-0.

Spartan Fact: Thaliana Grajeda moved into the top-10 in blocking and block assists at San José State. She is tied for 10th in blocks with 286 and alone in 10th in block assists with 266.

Men's Soccer (0-3-0)
This Week: The Spartans hosted #8 Saint Mary's on Monday and travel to San Francisco Thursday night for a non-conference match.

Last Match: San José State fell to #8 Saint Mary's 5-2 Monday night. The Spartans jumped out to a 2-0 lead with soals from upperclassmen Danny Sanchez and Suliman Khorami. 

Spartan Fact: The Spartans were the first Gaels opponent to have a lead on SMC in 358 days when Saint Mary's trailed UC Riverside 1-0 on 9/16/18.

Men's Water Polo (0-1)
This Week: The Spartan men's water polo team travels up Interstate 280 for the Stanford Invite to face Stanford on Friday and UCLA on Saturday.

Last Week: The Spartans opened the 2019 season with a 16-11 loss at Pacific on Saturday.

Spartan Fact: Adam Bado and Marc Weber scored three goals each against the Tigers.

Women's Golf
This Week: The Spartans finished the rain-shortened Minnesota Invitational on Tuesday by tying for third in the team standings. Sophomore Natasha Andrea Oon finished second individually with an eight-under 136.

Men's Golf
Next Week: The Spartans open the 2019-20 season at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge, Sept. 15-17, at the Donald Ross Course at Cedar Rapids Country Club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
