Spartans Lose to #2-Stanford, 16-5

Stanford, Calif.--Five Spartans scored in the 16-5 non-conference loss against #2 Stanford at the Stanford Invitational. 

    Finn Pardon, Emerson Trout, Marc Weber, Niels Hofmeijer and Giacomo Lovatelli each scored a goal for San Jose State. 

    Stanford took an early 3-1 lead after the first quarter of the match and led 9-3 after the first half. #2 Stanford kept its lead in the second half by scoring seven goals to San Jose State's two.

Spartan goalkeeper Yahav Fire was credited with seven saves. 

The Spartans return to action tomorrow September 14 against #3 UCLA for the second day of the Stanford Invite.
