Spartan Divers Finish Weekend At USC Diving Invite

LOS ANGELES - San Jose State divers Natasha Sondeno and Anna Jabs represented SJSU Swimming and Diving this past weekend at the Trojan Diving Invitational hosted by USC. The competition ran three days with three dives throughout the weekend.

Sondeno made the finals in all three events. The senior started off the weekend finishing 18th in the one meter championship with a score of 438.80. In the three meter championship, she placed 17th with a score of 452.20 and finished the event off with a ninth-place finish in the women's platform with a score of 374.85.

Freshman Anna Jabs also competed after picking up the sport just nine weeks ago. She finished with scores of 149.40 (one meter) and 153.30 (three meter).

"Anna being nine weeks into her new sport did well and placed against women that have been competing far longer than she has," SJSU diving coach Karla Helder said. "I'm very happy with her presentation and demeanor. Natasha continues to show maturity as the senior and applies the recommended tactics to place in the more robust meets. I'm very pleased to see these two women grow into the competitive season."
