Men's Golf Signs Three for 2020

San José, Calif. - San José State men's golf coach John Kennaday has announced the addition of three signees for the Spartans' 2020 recruiting class.

The Spartans will add Kris Stiles (Lancaster, Calif.) and Paqo Barro (Makati, Philippines) as freshmen next season in addition to junior college transfer Nobuhiko Wakaari (Sendai, Japan).

SJSU graduates a pair of standout seniors at the end of the season in Nate Jetter and Sean Yu.

"There is a lot of talent and upside in this group," Kennaday said. "It's going to be difficult to replace two great seniors but these three guys have great character and extraordinary talent. They each play a very thoughtful and strategic style, which translates well to the Div. I level."

PAQO BARRO
Makati, Philippines (Laurel Springs HS (CA))
"Paqo is very talented and is on the rise," Kennaday said. "He has a great work ethic and with his large upside, could continue to get better and better."

KRIS STILES
Lancaster, Calif. (Paraclete HS)
"Kris was a little bit off the radar recently because of some injuries he's had," Kennaday said. "He still has a very extensive résumé in junior golf. He will bring big time energy and talent to the team."

NOBUHIKO WAKAARI
Sendai, Japan (College of the Canyons)

"Nobu has a ton of international experience," Kennaday said. "He's played in a lot of big tournaments around the world and at the junior college level which has refined his game and given him great perspective."
