San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico—Spartan Maddie White shot an team-best even-par 72 Saturday in the second round of the Battle at the Beach as San José State finished the day in seventh place at the San Jose Club Campestre.
White is tied for 17th at three-over, 147. She started her round on #7, made a birdie on her third hole of the day, the par-3 #9, and three more pars to be one-under through six holes. She then made bogeys on two of her next three holes to go to one-over par. White finished her by making seven consecutive pars, a birdie on the par-4 #5 and a par on her final hole.
Ysabel Tran shot a two-over 74 on Saturday and is tied for 22nd at four-over 148. She made one birdie and 14 pars including a stretch where she made five consecutive pars (8-12)
Antonia Malate also shot a two-over 74 and is tied for 32nd at five-over 149. She made birdies on the par-5 #4 and the par-4 #16.
Kajsa Arwefjäll is tied for 45th at eight-over 152 after shooting a 76. She made 14 pars and four bogeys during her round.
Natasha Andrea Oon is tied for 50th at nine-over 153. She shot a four-over 76 in the second round, making one birdie and 12 pars.
Jadan Gonzalez, playing as an individual, is tied for 85th at +24. She shot and 80 in the second round, shooting even par on holes 10-18.
The Spartans shot a 296 in the second round and are now +20 (596) and in seventh place. Ole Miss leads the tournament at four-over 580. SJSU is within 10 shots of third place Virginia Tech.
