San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico—The San José State women's golf team shot five-under 283 in the final round of the Battle at the Beach Sunday afternoon and finished in seventh place.
Four Spartans shot par or better during the round. Maddie White shot a one-under 71 and finished tied for 16th at two-over 218. Starting her day on #5, White made par on seven of her first nine holes. She sank three birdies including two on her final four holes.
Ysabel Tran shot even-par 72 and tied for 25th at four-over 220. She started the round with a birdie on #6 and finished the round with birdies on two of the final four holes.
Kajsa Arwefjäll shot a two-under 70 and tied for 31st at six-over 222. After starting her round par-par-bogey-par, she finished with 12 pars and two birdies made.
Natasha Andrea Oon also shot a two-under 70 and tied for 26th at seven-over 223. She started her round on the eighth hole and made pars on 10 of her first 11 holes. Oon then made four consecutive birdies on holes 1-4 before a bogey and two pars to close out her round.
Antonia Malate rounded out the Spartan scoring with a 76 and tied for 47th at nine-over 225. She made one birdie and 12 pars.
Playing as an individual, Jadan Gonzalez shot a 74 and tied for 82nd at 242. She made birdies on holes 1 and 2 and pars on 12 holes.
The Spartans, along with LSU, shot the fourth-best round of the day at 283 to finish the fall schedule. Ole Miss won the tournament with a seven-under 857 after finishing the tournament with an eight-under 277 on Sunday.
