Kansas City, Mo. - The accolades continue to roll in for midfielder Max Allen as the Liverpool native has been named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region team as a third-team honoree.
A co-captain in his junior season, Allen started all 18 matches he appeared in on the 2019 campaign. He recorded three assists on the season and spent 1,555 minutes on the pitch.
Two of the midfielder's assists came in the team's record-setting 6-0 victory over Kansas City back in October. Controlling the action from the center of the field all season long, Allen was pivotal in one of the program's best in-season turnarounds in school history.
"This is deserved recognition for Max's performances this season," said head coach Simon Tobin. "The West Region boasts many of the top players in the country and it will hopefully inspire him to further accolades in his senior season next year."

The accolade is just the latest for Allen as the junior was named as a first-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection last month. The midfielder helped lead San José State to a third straight postseason appearance in 2019 and will be one of 14 seniors leading next year's side.
Recent Spartan All-Far West Region honorees include Andy Rios (2016-2018), Jonathan Colunga (2016) and Rory Knibbs (2015).
