Spartan Swimming and Diving Drops Dual Meet At Cal, 174-46

BERKELEY, Calif. - San Jose State women's swimming and diving took first place in the 300 yard butterfly relay and had three top-three individuals as they dropped a dual meet with the Cal Golden Bears, 174-46, in Berkeley on Saturday. 

The Spartan "A" Team relay of Lani Auva'a, Antoinette Loya and Rebecca Petoe took first place in the 300 yard fly with a time of 2:24.53, besting Cal's second-place team (2:49.08) by better than 20 seconds. 

Individually, Gabby Heng placed third in the 150 freestyle with a time of 1:23.48, Loya swam the 50 yard freestyle in 24:28 to also take third while Petoe took home second 150 backstroke with a time of 1:45.00. 

The Spartans finished with 46 points while the Bears scored 174 to win the event.
